Girly Nelly Embroidery Multi-layer Ruffle Sweet Lolita Dress

Oh boy I have a lot to say about this dress

(Context I bought a short sleeve dress size L) ★Sizing: I am petite (4’10) and this dress fit me like a midi dress not at my knees which is not too bad. I do not recommend this dress if you rely on elastic/shirring to fit you well because It is closed by invisible zipper. I personally do not have a problem with the fitting. But if you have large arms the sleeve may be uncomfortable. And if you have a big chest please size up an extra size, you can always sinch in the waistline with a belt. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with the dress having no elastic. That just means it will do better in the wash (elastic won’t wear out over time) and it definitely gives the dress a more polished look. Just saying buy according to your body or short sleeve might not be for you. I didn’t buy long sleeve but from the picture it looks like the longer sleeve option has elastic at the cuff so it may be more comfortable! yes this is cotton so breathable and the details are so cute and well made. ●Accessories- The listing said there was no accessories included but my dress did come with a KC (head bow), waist belt, and 2 bow pins (long and small). Which I really like, the KC is so cute. The embroidery is machine sewing but there is hand sewn beading on parts which gives it a darling look and not like fast fashion at all. This dress if cared for properly will last a long time. ●Weather- really good for warm weather and cool weather but I definitely don’t recommend for extreme heat or cold. When I tried it on I did start to feel a bit warm 😅 ●Buttons- the buttons are wiggly with poses a risk to falling off. If you have some basic sewing skills I recommend re-enforcing them to make them stronger. Also the buttons are for aesthetics only they are not functional. The buttons on the sleeves however are functional. The button holes on my sleeves were not cut all the way so if you have the same problem please be careful and snip a little fabric just till the button can fit through. And there are rhinestone on the embroidery flowers that are also loose and need re-enforcing. ●How to wear- the closure type is invisible zipper and there are two zippers, on the back and the side. The back zipper is 13cm and the one on the side is 33cm. zippers can be problematic for some body types for me it wasn’t a problem. With how short the zippers are this dress is a pull over your head kind of dress and that may not be for everyone. I normally wear a size M in asian sizing and I purchased a L just in case of sizing issues. And I’m glad I bought a large. ●Lining- the lining inside the stress is a very thin cheap cotton that doesn’t easily lay flat with a petticoat but it’s not that bad. I’m sure if it really bothers you can cut the lining out and replace it. The material being cotton means it does wrinkle so if that’s not your thing to do laundry well then you might not like this. Fabric where the embroidery is, is polyester but that is on the outside not against your skin. ★General thoughts: I recommend washing this on cold water and letting it flat dry so that way you don’t have to iron it that much. I love this dress for me and might consider buying another in a different color. But it’s definitely not for everyone especially with the sizing. Please get a size bigger than what you normally get so it’s easier to put on or take off. And be prepared to maybe mend some missing beading. Lolitainside did a fantastic job at packaging my dress to keep it safe from damge. 💖
